In the ever-evolving landscape of social media, platforms like TikTok have become breeding grounds for creativity, humour, and, in some cases, unexpected career paths. One individual who found herself thrust into the spotlight is Maisie Lewis, a woman whose foray into adult content creation took an unexpected turn, leading her from humorous TikTok videos to a career in the adult industry.

We sat down with Maisie Lewis to delve into the intriguing story behind her unconventional career shift, exploring the challenges she faced, particularly the hurdles raised by her ex-husband, and how these obstacles ultimately propelled her towards a profession that not only transformed her financial situation but also granted her a newfound sense of independence and empowerment.

“So, what pushed you to dive into TikTok with those flirty, funny, adult-humour-filled videos? Spontaneity or a hidden talent for entertaining the masses?”

I got into the industry because I joined TikTok during lockdown and started to make funny, flirty videos with adult humour. Many people would ask me what my link was or if I had an OF page, which at the time I didn’t. From that, my ex-husband would stalk my account and take my TikToks as gospel when actually they were just trends I was following and putting my own spin on them.

“How did your ex handle your new hobby?

So off the back of that, my ex would report me to social services saying I was making adult content in front of my son and exposing him to adult content which of course wasn’t the case and I also never would do that! It got to the point where he reported me 4 times and I was investigated every time and they knew it was false and a waste of their time and mine!

“That must have been a scary time! what happened when they got in contact with you? ”

I asked them if I was to venture into adult content and use a subscription site how would that impact me, they said it’s not illegal and as long as it’s not around my child there is no issue, if it was glamour models would be in prison! So I started talking to girls in the industry who I followed and met through TikTok and got advice about doing it and thought my ex thinks I’m doing it anyway so why not give it a go and make some money!

“Sounds like the allegations only pushed you forward into making a career out of it when it was only meant to be some fun? it isn’t your typical industry what were you doing before? was it hard to leave that behind?

Before joining the industry I worked as a nanny and childminder but after having my son and leaving my ex I was a mum full time 24/7, my ex wasn’t allowed contact unless he applied for contact which he didn’t do so it was a struggle. Nanny jobs are long hours and I wasn’t able to juggle his pre-school hours and work, I wasn’t focusing 100% on my son so I had to give it up and work a job within school hours. So then I did a cleaning job in the day so I was able to collect my son from school and have that quality time with him. I struggled a lot with money and had to claim benefits it wasn’t a life I wanted.

So life before joining OnlyFans was hard, I wasn’t earning enough money, I used food banks some months as I just couldn’t afford to pay my bills and it was making me feel really low. So I started OnlyFans and off that when I started collabing with other creators I met people in the industry who introduced me to mainstream porn and I started working for MILF websites which continues and I’m now not having to struggle with my bills or buying food or even taking my son to McDonald’s for a treat without thinking of I could budget for it!

Fast forward from the pre-OnlyFans era, where her life was a mix of bill juggling and food bank visits, to now where it is very different…

I have more time to be there for my son now, I can still work within school hours and be able to pick him up. I have a great support network especially my mum so if I am working quite far at a studio she’ll collect my son from school but that’s not often. So my life has drastically changed! I was able to book a holiday this year for me and my son which I could never afford before. So yeah the money has definitely helped but not only that it’s given me my life back!

I work and have become friends with some great people who have really helped me, given me guidance and supported me in learning my craft with the mainstream side of things. I still make TikToks because that helps get my name out there and people know who I am, then they’ll subscribe and it’s good.
